Summary The ultrastructural localization of the phosphatase component of Na-K-ATPase in the guinea pig spiral prominence was studied utilizing p-nitrophenyl phosphate (NPP) as substrate. Na-K-ATPase activity was limited to the epithelial cells. The results are discussed.

Zusammenfassung Es wurde mit der von Ernst (1975) beschriebenen Methode die ultrastrukturelle Lokalisation der Na-K-ATPase in der Prominentia spiralis des Meerschweinchens untersucht. Die Enzymaktivität war auf das Oberflächenepithel der Prominentia spiralis beschränkt. Die Befunde werden diskutiert.
