Description / Table of Contents:
Notes:
Summary Using more than 80 human cadaver pelvises, we studied the luxation mechanism of symphysis and the ileosacral joint by lateral static compression. After that the pelvises were stabilized by osteosynthesis and again compressed until the osteosynthesis failed. Seven different methods of stabilization were compared. The tension wires used exclusively in our hospital in clinical cases and our newly developed method using PDS showed results that were almost as good as rigid fixation. Arthrodesis with ileosacral joint screws were more instable.
