Abstract Although candiduria is not an infrequent finding, its clinical significance is uncertain. Herein the pertinent literature including ours on candiduria and related conditions are reviewed, with emphasis on methods of differentiating true urinary candidiasis from simple colonization, using colony counts in urine specimens, antibody-coated bacteria test, serologic diagnosis including serum antibody titer, Candida antigen and metabolite assays. The predisposing factors and treatment in relation to antifungal susceptibility tests are also presented.
