Notizen: Abstract: The 9Be +209Bi fusion cross sections were measured in the range 37.5 MeV ≤ E lab ≤ 45.0 MeV at the Munich Tandem via the observation of ground state α-decay of the evaporation residues. Fusion cross sections of 209Bi with the “halo”11Be unstable projectile in the region around the Coulomb barrier were deduced from an experiment done with the same technique at the RIKEN Ring Cyclotron. Above the Coulomb barrier the 11Be cross sections are larger than the 9Be ones in agreement with theoretical predictions based on the larger 11Be halo radius. Also below the barrier these theories foresee the same behavior in disagreement with the experimental results, since the two cross sections are rather similar.

Notizen: Abstract: Direct mass measurements of A=80 isobars were performed using the second cyclotron of SARA (Système Accélérateur Rhône-Alpes) of the ISN (Institut des Sciences Nucléaires) in Grenoble as a time-of-flight mass spectrometer. Using the 300 MeV 58Ni +27Al reaction, the isobars 80Rb, 80Sr, 80Y, and 80Zr (only one event!) were measured. For 80Y we found a mass value of 79.934320(180) u, corresponding to a decay energy Q (80Y →80Sr) of (9120 ± 170) keV. Comparing this value to the former experiments of Lister et al. and Della Negra et al. results in a difference of about 2.2 MeV. However, it does agree with the recommended value of Audi and Wapstra, which is derived from systematic trends. For 80Zr the single event was identified with a probability of 0.999975 and a mass value of 79.940400(1600) u could be deduced from our experiment.

Notizen: Abstract: The 9Be +209Bi fusion cross sections were measured in the 36.0 MeV ≤ Elab≤ 50.0 MeV range, down to 0.6 mb, with high accuracy via in-beam detection of the ground state α-decay of the evaporation residues produced. The elastic scattering cross sections around 150° and 135° were also obtained with moderate angular resolution. The cross sections below the barrier are reproduced by coupled channel calculations which include only one break-up channel with a moderate strength and a phenomenological renormalization of the potential depth. These simple calculations overestimate the cross sections above the barrier most likely due to the fact that the 9Be break-up process becomes much stronger. The barrier distributions extracted do not have evident break-up signature since they show one-barrier structure.

Notizen: Abstract: This paper contributes to the discussion on the phenomena of the enhanced emission of low–energetic charged particles during compound nuclei decay. The decay of compound nuclei 52Fe, 56Ni, and 59Cu was studied. Energy spectra and emission angles of evaporated charged particles were measured in coincidence with gamma rays to determine the corresponding evaporation residue nucleus. Additionally, evaporation residue distributions were determined with the Munich rf recoil spectrometer. In this way, detailed channel–specific evaporation data were obtained for theoretical analysis. We extracted evaporation barriers and compared them with corresponding fusion barriers. The main result was revealed to be a lowering of the evaporation barrier for protons and alpha particles relative to the fusion barriers. But the observed effect is not as intensive as reported in recent studies.
