Notes: Three types of defects, namely defect I, defect II, defect III, in the 4H-SiC homoepilayerwere investigated by micro-raman scattering measurement. These defects all originate from a certaincore and are composed of (I) a wavy tail region, (II) two long tails, the so called comet and (III) threeplaits. It was found that there are 3C-SiC inclusions in the cores of defect II and defect III and theshape of inclusion determines the type of defect II or defect III. If the core contains a triangle-shapedinclusion, the defect III would be formed; otherwise, the defect II was formed. No inclusion wasobserved in the core of the defect I. The mechanisms of these defects are discussed

Notes: Using AlN as a buffer layer, 3C-SiC film has been grown on Si substrate by low pressure chemical vapor deposition (LPCVD). Firstly growth of AlN thin films on Si substrates under varied V/III ratios at 1100oC was investigated and the (002) preferred orientational growth with good crystallinity was obtained at the V/III ratio of 10000. Annealing at 1300oC indicated the surface morphology and crystallinity stability of AlN film. Secondly the 3C-SiC film was grown on Si substrate with AlN buffer layer. Compared to that without AlN buffer layer, the crystal quality of the 3C-SiC film was improved on the AlN/Si substrate, characterized by X-ray diffraction (XRD) and Raman measurements

Notes: Management of fixture design knowledge is vital for improving product quality andreducing product lead time, but there is no efficient and effective mechanism in currentcomputer-aided fixture design systems to integrate fixture design process, to share design resourceas well as acquisition and reuse knowledge. Ontology is increasingly seen as a key technology forenabling semantics-driven knowledge processing. On the background of a architecture of fixturedesign system based on knowledge introduced in the paper, we presented and expatiated a fixturedesign knowledge acquisition and reuse technology based on ontology, which embeds ontology incurrent computer-aided fixture design based on knowledge. Finally, the related case study wasgiven

Notes: The laser-melting process of SiC nano-particles coated on the plasma sprayed WC-Cocoating was performed. The SiC nanocomposite coating was prepared, and the microstructure and themechanical properties of it were investigated. After laser irradiated, parts of nano SiC particles areturned into the inner of coating with the nano-micro composite structure. The being of SiCnano-particles in coating brings the better fine microstructure and the higher densification. Thewear-resistant property and the corrosion-resistant property of the coating with SiC nano-particles areimproved more than the coatings prepared by laser melting process without the SiC nano-particles

Notes: The prediction accuracy of the simulation of cutting process is related with thedescription of the nonlinear behavior of material at extremely high strain, strain rate andtemperature in machining. In this paper, an integral Johnson-Cook model is presented tocharacterize the mechanical behavior of work materials in machining, and the parameters in themodel are determined by fitting the data from both quasi-static compression and cutting tests. Thenthe material equation of 2Cr13 stainless steel is derived with this method and used in the finiteelement model of orthogonal cutting with carbide tools. At last, the simulation result is verified withexperimental data

Notes: There is the advantage of continuity in organic structure and mechanical property forfunctionally gradient materials (FGMs), but it is unable to be used in the mould industry for the difficulty of the second machining up to now. In this study, a novel technology of FGM mould with fine veins fabricated by plasma spraying has been developed, which can easily realize the integration of FGM forming and deep machining of the mould. According to applied characteristic of plastic injection mould, WC-12%Co/NiCrAl powders are selected and the reasonable FGM coating has been prepared. Spraying processes have been investigated, such as fabrication of spray mould with fine veins, FGM forming, backing and demoulding, etc. At the same time, the metallography, porosity and microhardness of the spraying layer have been analyzed. The results show that the service performance of the FGM mould is much more excellent than that of the traditional mould, and the life span can also be greatly improved. The research will have a significant influence on the material development in the mould industry

Notes: To investigate nanoparticles’ antitumor effect, a globose 30~35nm Ce(IV) dopedTitanium dioxide nanoparticles (CDT) were prepared by impregnation method and characterized byX-ray diffraction (XRD) and transmission electron microscopy(TEM). Proliferation of BEL7402human Hepatoma cells was studied in vitro by using fluorescence microscopy and Flow Cytometry. The results show that cerium elements doping enhanced thermal stability of nano-size titaniumdioxide to 800℃. With UV irradiated for 8min, BEL7402 were induced a dose-dependent apoptosisby CDT, about 28.2% , 41.5% and 88.3% cells were induced apoptosis after 24h at concentration of60, 120 and 180ug/ml respectively, relative to 3.9% of that of control group cell just only in thepresence of UV
