Notes:
The diffusion of various concentrations of a deterrent (di-n-butyl phthalate) into a spherical, nitroglycerin-containing nitrocellulose matrix was studied. It was concluded that the final concentration profile could best be explained by a diffusion with interaction mechanism. Based on this mechanism, a method for calculating the depth of deterrent penetration is presented.
