Pseudohalogeno Compounds, XIX. Reactions of XC(O)SCl (X = F, Cl) and Cl3-nFnCSCl (n = 0, 1, 2) with CyanamidesCyanamide reacts with CF2ClSCl to give N,N′-bis(chlorodifluoromethylsulfenyl)chloroformamidine (1). The reaction of isopropylcyanamide with Cl3-nFnCSCl (n = 2, 1, 0) leads to the N-isopropyl-N,N′-bis(trihalogenomethylsulfenyl)chloroformamidines (n = 2, 2a: n = 1, 2b; n = 0, 2c). Of these only 2a distills i. vac. without decomposition. 2b and c upon distillation lose the corresponding sulfenyl chloride and 2b yields (dichlorofluoromethylsulfenyl)isopropylcyanamide (3b), whereas 2c decomposes completely. (Chlorodifluoromethylsulfenyl)isopropylcyanamide (3a) is produced by refluxing 2a at a pressure of 20 Torr. - Isopropylcyanamide condenses with XC(O)SCl (X = Cl, F) to form thiadiazoline derivatives. The reaction with ClC(O)SCl yields 3-chloro-4-isopropyl-Δ2-1,2,4-thiadiazoline-5-one (4a), whereas that with FC(O)SCl leads to three compounds: 3-fluoro-2-isopropyl-Δ3-1,2,4-thiadiazoline-5-one (4b), (fluoroformyl)isopropylcyanamide (5), and 4a. Oxalyl chloride also reacts similarly with isopropylcyanamide. Hydrolysis of the crude product yields isopropylparabanic acid (6).
Notes:
FC(O)SCl liefert dagegen drei Produkte, nämlich: 3-Fluor-2-isopropyl-Δ3-1,2,4-thiadiazolin-5-on (4b), (Fluorformyl)-isopropylcyanamid (5) und 4a.
