Notes: Abstract The controllability for switched linear systems with time-delay in controls is first investigated. The whole work contains three parts. This is the third part. The definition and determination of controllability of switched linear systems with multiple time-delay in control functions is mainly investigated. The sufficient and necessary conditions for the one-periodic, multiple-periodic controllability of periodic-type systems and controllability of aperiodic systems are presented, respectively. Finally, the case of distinct delays is discussed, it is shown that the controllability is independent of the size of delays.

The definition and determination of controllability of switched linear systems with single time-delay in control functions is mainly investigated. Notes: Abstract: Natural radiative lifetimes of eight levels in Tm I ( 4f 135d6p and 4f 125d6s 2 configurations), two levels in Tm II ( 4f 125d6s configuration) and three levels in Tm III (4f 125d configuration) have been measured by using time-resolved laser spectroscopy. Free thulium atoms, as well as singly and doubly ionized ions, were obtained in a laser-induced thulium plasma and the investigated states were selectively populated by a single-step excitation process with a tunable narrow-band laser pulse.

Notes: Abstract: Lifetimes of some 3p5nd (n = 4, 5, 6, 7) levels of neutral argon have been measured by high frequency deflection technique with a delayed coincidence single photon counting arrangement. The measurements have been performed under conditions where pressure dependent effects are negligible. Lifetimes of some of the levels have been measured for the first time. The results have been compared with other experimental and theoretical values.

Notes: Abstract: The atom optics of Bose-Einstein condensates containing a vortex of circulation one is discussed. We first analyze in detail the reflection of such a condensate falling on an atomic mirror. In a second part, we consider a rotating condensate in the case of attractive interactions. We show that for sufficiently large nonlinearity the rotational symmetry of the rotating condensate is broken.

Notes: Abstract: The 17 levels of the 3 d 10 , 3 d 9 4 s and 3 d 9 4 p configurations, and the electric-dipole transitions among these levels are calculated for the three nickel-like ions Se6+, Y11+ and Sn22+ by using large-scale multiconfiguration Dirac-Fock wavefunctions. From these computations, the excitation energies and transition probabilities as well as the lifetimes of 3 d 9 4 p levels are derived, including all dominant effects of relativity, correlation and of the rearrangement of the electron density within the same framework. Comparison is made with the scarce number of experimental data and previous semi-empirical computations.

Notes: Abstract The controllability for switched linear system with time-delay in controls was first investigated. The whole work contains three parts. This is the first part, including problem formulation and some preliminaries. Firstly, the mathematical model of switched linear systems with time-delay in control functions was presented. Secondly, the concept of column space, cyclic invariant subspace and generalized cyclic invariant subspace were introduced. And some basic properties, such as separation lemma, were presented. Finally, a basic lemma was given to reveal the relation between the solution set of a centain integral equations and the generalized cyclic invariant subspace. This lemma will play an important role in the determination of controllability. All these definitions and lemmas are necessary research tools for controllability analysis.

Notes: Abstract: Radiative lifetimes of 7d, 8d 1 D 2 excited states of Hg I are measured using pulsed two-photon excitation from the ground [Xe]5d 106s 2 1 S 0 mercury state, detecting the decay of the laser-induced fluorescence. The results are compared with theoretical values, obtained by means of a Hartree-Fock single configuration method, taking into account electron configuration interaction. The radiative lifetime value dependence on the effective principal quantum number for the nd 1 D 2 series is analyzed and compared with the quantum defect dependence.

Notes: Abstract: We present a new determination of the potential curves and interactions of the coupled electronic states A 1 Σ + u and b 3 Π u of the potassium dimer, based on new laser spectroscopy measurements within a molecular beam, combined with data available in the literature. We used a new global deperturbation approach, involving the Fourier Grid Hamiltonian method for energy level calculation. A standard deviation of 1.2 is obtained corresponding to a variance of 7.5×10 -3 cm-1, representing a significant improvement compared to the standard deviation of 4 yielded by the traditional local deperturbation approach.

Notes: Abstract: We report the detailed analysis of translationally cold rubidium molecule formation through photoassociation. Cold molecules are formed after spontaneous decay of photoexcited molecules from a laser cooled atomic sample, and are detected by selective mass spectroscopy after two-photon ionization into Rb 2 + ions. A spectroscopic study of the 0 g - (5 S + 5 P 3/2 ) pure long-range state of 87Rb2 is performed by detecting the ion yield as a function of the photoassociation laser frequency; the spectral data are theoretically analyzed within the semiclassical RKR approach. Molecular ionization is resonantly enhanced through either the 2 3 Π g or the 2 3 Σ + g intermediate molecular states. Some vibrational levels of the latter electronic state are observed and assigned here for the first time. Finally, cold molecules formation rates are calculated and compared to the experimentally measured ones, and the vibrational distribution of the formed molecules in the a 3 Σ + u ground triplet state is discussed.

Notes: Abstract: We have developed and characterized a new method to produce a continuous beam of cold atoms from a standard vapour-cell magneto-optical trap (MOT). The experimental apparatus is very simple. Using a single laser beam it is possible to hollow out in the source MOT a direction of unbalanced radiation pressure along which cold atoms can be accelerated out of the trap. The transverse cooling process that takes place during the extraction reduces the beam divergence. The atomic beam is used to load a magneto-optical trap operating in an ultra-high vacuum environment. At a vapour pressure of 10-8mbar in the loading cell, we have produced a continuous flux of 7×107atoms/s at the recapture cell with a mean velocity of 14 m/s. A comparison of this method with a pulsed transfer scheme is presented.

Notes: Abstract: We present experimental results on the two-body loss rates in a magneto-optical trap of metastable helium atoms. Absolute rates are measured in a systematic way for several laser detunings ranging from -5 to -30 MHz and at different intensities, by monitoring the decay of the trap fluorescence. The dependence of the two-body loss rate coefficient β on the excited state ( 23 P 2) and metastable state ( 23 S 1) populations is also investigated. From these results we infer a rather uniform rate constant K sp = (1±0.4)×10-7 cm3/s.

Notes: Abstract: Lifetimes of three levels belonging to the configuration 4f 135d with J = 1 in Yb III have been measured for the first time using the time-resolved laser-induced fluorescence method. Experimental transition probabilities have been deduced for the transitions between the levels studied and the ground state. The comparison of the experimental lifetimes with theoretical data, deduced within the relativistic Hartree-Fock (HFR) approach, underlines the dramatic importance of an adequate consideration of core-polarization effects in the theoretical model and the sensitivity of one of the lifetime values to small correlation effects.
