Notes: Bei der Berechnung von Anlagen zur Verflüssigung eines dampfförmigen Stoffes aus einer Mischung mit Gasen hat es sich als zweckmäßig erwiesen, die jeweiligen Mischungsverhältnisse, Drucke, Volumen, Wärmemengen nicht wie bisher auf Raumteile zu beziehen, sondern auf die Gewichtseinheit des beigemischten, nicht verflüssigbaren Gasanteils als einen durch das ganze Verfahren hindurch konstant bleibenden Wert. Dieser Rechnungsgang wird am Beispiel der Chlorverflüssigung erläutert, so daß hiernach die geeigneten Drucke und Temperaturen für Neuanlagen oder für den Ausbau vorhandener Anlagen bestimmt werden können. Das Rechnungsverfahren wird lediglich der Übersichtlichkeit halber auf Chlor beschränkt, es ist allgemein für jedes Gas-Dampf-Gemisch anwendbar.

Notes: Fritz und Weber haben eine neue Apparatur zur Messung der Zähigkeit von Flüssigkeiten bei hohem Druck beschrieben und einige Einzelheiten über die Temperatureinstellung und den Temperaturgang während der Versuche mitgeteilt. Im Anschluß daran werden nachfolgend die experimentelle Durchführung des Meßverfahrens geschildert und die Versuchsergebnisse angegeben, die mit der Apparatur im Bereich der Drücke bis 200 at bei Temperaturen bis 120° erzielt wurden. Außerdem werden zusätzlich Versuchsergebnisse mitgeteilt, die in einer früheren, nicht veröffentlichten Untersuchung mit einer ähnlichen Apparatur bei Drücken bis 1000 at und Temperaturen von 20°-60° gewonnen worden waren. In der Diskussion der Ergebnisse wird besonders die Temperaturabhängigkeit des Druckkoeffizienten der Viskosität betrachtet und der Druckkoeffizient in Beziehung gebracht zu konventionellen Maßzahlen, wie Viskositätspolhöhe und Viskositätsindex. Schließlich wird eine von Kießkalt angegebene Beziehung zwischen der Temperaturabhängigkeit und der Druckabhängigkeit der Viskosität nachgeprüft.

Notes: Auf dem Internationalen Kongreß für Ingenieur-Ausbildung, der im August 1947 in Darmstadt durchgeführt wurde, war eines der Hauptthemen die Frage der Ausbildung von Ingenieuren für die chemische Industrie. Es wird im folgenden erneut die dringende Notwendigkeit begründet, daß das Gebiet der Verfahrenstechnik eine verbreiterte Grundausbildung des Ingenieurs nach den Gebieten der Physik und der Chemie verlangt. Ein entsprechendes Studium fehlt heute noch in den Hauptfachrichtungen wie der des allgemeinen Maschinenbaues, der Elektrotechnik usw. Es wird unsere Aufgabe sein, diese bestehende Lücke in der Ingenieur-Ausbildung bei der Aufstellung neuer Lehrpläne zu schließen. Die Forderung nach einem Studium für Verfahrenstechnik läuft also nicht auf ein neues Spezialistentum hinaus, sondern ganz im Gegenteil auf ein Ingenieurstudium mit verbreiterter physikalisch-chemischer Grundlage.

Im folgenden wird gezeigt, daß die Wärmeleitzahl und Diffusionszahl des Stoffpaares und die damit in Zusammenhang stehenden Werte der Wärmeübergangszahl und der Stoffaustauschzahl einen wesentlichen Einfluß auf die Art des Ausscheidens haben. Diesen Einfluß kann man durch den Lewisschen Koeffizienten, der sich als das Verhältnis der Geschwindigkeiten des Wärme- und Stoffaustausches deuten läßt, übersichtlich ausdrücken und näherungsweise auch theoretisch erfassen. Versuche bestätigen weitgehend die theoretischen Folgerungen, wenn auch eine vollständige Erklärung aller Beobachtungen vorerst nicht möglich ist.

Notes: Bei der Prüfung von zähen Stoffen, besonders von Ölen, waren wir vor einiger Zeit vor die Aufgabe gestellt, ein geeignetes Meßverfahren für die Ermittlung der Viskosität sehr zäher Flüssigkeiten (106 bis 107 cP) auszuarbeiten. Das Meßverfahren sollte dabei einmal mit möglichst einfachen und schon in der Praxis eingeführten Geräten arbeiten und zum anderen auch im Gebiet tiefer Temperaturen bis etwa -80° brauchbar sein. Für die Lösung dieser Aufgabe erwies sich das sonst kaum beachtete Vogel-Ossag-Steigrohr als ein brauchbares Meßgerät. Da sich das Steigrohr inzwischen auch bei anderen an der früheren Physikalisch-Technischen Reichsanstalt durchgeführten Versuchen mehrfach bewährt hat, werden im folgenden das Meßverfahren näher beschrieben und einige wesentliche Versuchsergebnisse mitgeteilt.

Notes: Für die Aufstellung eines Gleichgewichtsdiagramms des ternären Systems N2-Ar-O2 standen bisher nur Messungen des Phasengleichgewichtes zwischen Flüssigkeit und Dampf der Zweistoffgemische N2-Ar1), N2O22) und Ar-O23), sowie einige wenige Meßwerte für das Dreistoffgemisch zur Verfügung. Aus den im Jahre 1935 vorgelegenen Versuchswerten hat H. Hausen4) mittels einer aus der Duhem-Margulesschen Beziehung abgeleiteten halbempirischen Gleichung Gleichgewichtsdiagramme des ternären Gemisches für die Drucke 760 mm Hg und 5 at abs berechnet. Da damals die Messungen von Bourbo u. Ischkin3) für Ar-O2-Gemische noch nicht vorlagen und die Unterlagen für das Dreistoffgemisch unzureichend waren, konnten diese Diagramme nur wenig genau sein. Es ergab sich daher der Wunsch nach einer Neuaufstellung des Gleichgewichtsdiagramms unter Zugrundelegung einer großen Anzahl von Meßwerten auch im Dreistoff-Gebiet. Aus diesem Grunde wurden möglichst genaue Gleichgewichtsmessungen an N2-Ar-O2-Gemischen, und zwar bei einem Druck von 1000 Torr durchgeführt, weil dieser Druck im Mittel in der oberen Säule einer Lufttrennanlage herrscht.

Notes: Der Wirkungsgrad von Schwebstoff-Filtern, die nur aus Zellstoff-Fasern bzw. Baumwoll-Linters bestehen, ist unzureichend. Die Herstellung hochwirksamer Filter gelingt erst mit Hilfe von Zusatzstoffen, die sich durch eine besonders hohe schwebstoffabscheidende Wirkung auszeichnen. Lange Zeit wurde zu diesem Zwecke zerfaserter Asbest mit Erfolg verarbeitet. Infolge der Asbestverknappung mußte nach Asbestaustauschstoffen gesucht werden, wobei der Kunststoff Polystyrol als Zusatzstoff gute schwebstoffabscheidende Wirkungen aufweist.

Notes: Versuche mit Rektifizierböden zeigten bei bestimmten Gemischen, daß die Wirkung des Austauschbodens sich sowohl bei niedrigem als auch bei hohem Gehalt an leichter siedendem Stoff im Gemisch stark ändert. Im folgenden wird gezeigt, daß sich diese Abhängigkeit der Bodenwirkung von der Gemisch-Konzentration durch die Größen erklären läßt, die den Wärmeübergang zwischen Flüssigkeit und Dampf auf dem Rektifizierboden bestimmen.
