Notes: Abstract. We study kaonic deuterium, the bound K-d state AK d. Within a quantum field-theoretic and relativistic covariant approach we derive the energy level displacement of the ground state of kaonic deuterium in terms of the amplitude of K-d scattering for arbitrary relative momenta. Near threshold our formula reduces to the well-known DGBT formula. The S-wave amplitude of K-d scattering near threshold is defined by the resonances Λ(1405), Σ(1750) and a smooth elastic background, and the inelastic channels K-d → NY and K-d → NYπ, where Y = Σ±,Σ{0} and Λ{0}, where the final-state interactions play an important role. The Ericson-Weise formula for the S-wave scattering length of K-d scattering is derived. The total width of the energy level of the ground state of kaonic deuterium is estimated using the theoretical predictions of the partial widths of the two-body decays AKd → NY and experimental data on the rates of the NY pair production in the reactions K-d → NY. We obtain Γ{1s} = (630±100)eV. For the shift of the energy level of the ground state of kaonic deuterium we predict ε{1s} = (325±60)eV.

Notes: Abstract. Within the Nuclear Nambu-Jona-Lasinio model of light nuclei (the NNJL model), describing strong low-energy nuclear interactions, we compute the width of the energy level of the ground state of pionic deuterium. The theoretical value fits well the experimental data. Using the cross-sections for the reactions νe + d → p + p + e- and νe + d → p + n + νe, computed in the NNJL model, and the experimental values of the events of these reactions, detected by the SNO Collaboration, we compute the boron neutrino fluxes. The theoretical values agree well with the experimental data and the theoretical predictions within the Standard Solar Model by Bahcall. We argue the applicability of the constraints on the astrophysical factor for the solar proton burning, imposed by helioseismology, to the width of the energy level of the ground state of pionic deuterium. We show that the experimental data on the width satisfy these constraints. This testifies an indirect measurement of the recommended value of the astrophysical factor for the solar proton burning in terrestrial laboratories in terms of the width of the energy level of the ground state of pionic deuterium.

Die zunächst verwirrend erscheinende Fülle der Anwendungen wird begründet durch Zurückführung auf die Besonderheiten des Chemismus, der Molekularstruktur und Bindungskräfte, bei deren Betrachtung der „silicatische“ Charakter der Methylpolysiloxane besonders auffällt.

Notes: Der Kohlenhydratabbau im Zuge der Atmung weist bei tierischen und pflanzlichen Geweben keine prinzipiellen Unterschiede auf. Sehr wahrscheinlich besteht die Photosynthese der grünen Pflanzen im wesentlichen in einer Umkehrung der Atmungsvorgänge. Der notwendige Wasserstoff in Form hydrierter Cofermente und energiereiches Phosphat werden durch die Photolyse des Wassers und dadurch mögliche Folgereaktionen zur Verfügung gestellt. Die Quantenausbeute bei der Photosynthese und der von O. Warburg entdeckte 1-Quanteneffekt werden auf der Basis dieser Vorstellungen diskutiert.

Notes: Arsen(III) und Germanium(IV) lassen sich aus stark salzsaurer wäßriger Lösung weitgehend durch Tetrachlorkohlenstoff und ähnliche Lösungsmittel extrahieren. Fast alle anderen Elemente sowie auch Arsen(V) gehen dabei nur in Spuren in die CCl4-Phase über, so daß dieses Verfahren einen bequemen Weg zur Isolierung von As und Ge darbietet, der auch bei extremen Mengenverhältnissen noch sehr wirkungsvoll ist.

Notes: Es wird ein Überblick über die wichtigsten chemischen, biochemischen und physiologischen Daten der Kohlensäureanhydratase (carbonic anhydrase) gegeben. Ohne selbst direkt an hydrolytischen oder oxydoreduktiven Stoffwechselvorgängen beteiligt zu sein, gibt dieses Zink-haltige Ferment doch an der Grenze des anorganischen und organischen Stoffbereichs entscheidende Hilfestellung für den normalen Ablauf physiologischer Vorgänge. Die „Kohlensäureanhydratase“ könnte als Ferment der Reaktion H2CO3 ⇌ H2O + CO2 auch Kohlendioxydhydratase heißen; der angelsächsische Ausdruck carbonic anhydrase erscheint wegen der sprachlichen Ähnlichkeit mit den Wasserstoff abspaltenden Dehydrasen unglücklich gewählt. Wegen der älteren Literatur sei auf frühere Zusammenfassungen verwiesen.

Notes: Die zahlreichen Versuche, durch Abwandlung des p-Nitrophenol-Restes des „E 605“ zu weniger giftigen, aber insektizid gut wirksamen Mitteln zu gelangen, führten zu 3-Chlor-4-nitrophenyl-dimethylthiophosphat (Chlorthion). Chlorthion hat sich als brauchbares Insektizid erwiesen; schon geringe Änderungen des Molekelbaues führen jedoch zu wesentlich weniger wirksamen Substanzen.

Notes: Es wird das kristallchemische Verhalten von Barium-manganat(V) besprochen. Dargestellt werden konnten sowohl ein tert. Manganat(V) als auch die entspr. Hydroxyl-Struktur. Durch Vergleiche mit verwandten Verbindungen konnten die lonenradien von V5+, Cr5+ und Mn5+ abgeschätzt werden. Die Manganate(V) sind vollständig mischbar mit den entspr. Phosphaten, Vanadaten und Chromaten(V). - Durch Umsetzung von Kaliumoxyd mit Schwermetalloxyden konnten KCuO2, K2NiO3, K3FeO4 als neue Verbindungen dargestellt und die Existenz von KCoO3 wahrscheinlich gemacht werden. - Einwirkung von Fluor auf Gemische von Alkalisalzen mit entspr. Schwermetallsalzen ergab eine große Reihe von neuen Fluor-Komplexverbindungen, bei denen z. T. sonst seltene Oxydationsstufen auftreten. Von den erhaltenen Verbindungen wurden das chemische Verhalten, die magnetischen Eigenschaften und die Kristallstruktur untersucht.

Notes: Die Abhängigkeit der Trennung von Ceriterden in Austauschersäulen vom komplexbildenden Elutionsmittel und von der Art der Austauscherkationen wird untersucht. Bei Amino-tetraessigsäuren steigt die Trennwirkung in der Reihenfolge: Äthylendiamin-tetraessigsäure, o-Cyclohexan-diamino-tetraessigsäure, ββ′-Diaminoäthyläther-tetraessigsäure und Äthylenglykol-bis-β-aminoäthyläther-tetraessigsäure. Dies wird bei konstantem PH-Wert auf die sinkende Komplexitätskonstante und deren Abstufung in der Seltenen Erden-Reihe sowie auf die für die einzelnen Komplexbildner differierende PH-Abhängigkeit zurückgeführt. Die besten Trenneffekte zeigt Äthylenglykol-bis-β-aminoäthyläther-tetraessigsäure bei PH 6,75. Der Nalcite HCR-Austauscher ergibt in der NH4-Form gegenüber der H-Form nicht nur einen sofortigen Durchbruch, sondern auch ein beachtliches Trennergebnis. Unterschiede in der Wirkung bei der Na-, K- und NH4-Form einerseits und der Ca-Form andererseits werden erklärt.

Notes: Bei der Reduktion von quartären Pyridinium (usw.)-salzen entstehen Dimerisationsprodukte der Pyridinium-Radikale, die noch ausgesprochene Radikaleigenschaften zeigen. Von den di-quartären γγ′-Dipyridiniumsalzen leiten sich Verbindungen ab, die Dipyridinium-Diradikalen entsprechen; ihre valenztautomeren Zwischenzustände mit einer chinoiden Formel werden „Quasi-diradikale“ genannt. Von ihnen lassen sich merichinoide Monosalze ableiten, die gleichzeitig einwertige Radikale sind. Verteilte Heteropolarität (Mesomerie) wird als Grund für ihre intensive Farbe angenommen. Die Wursterschen Salze sind analog als monomolekulare radikalartige Salze zu formulieren. Gleiche Verteilungen der positiven Ladung liegen bei den basischen Triphenylmethan-Farbstoffen vor, die ihrer Zusammensetzung nach keine Radikale sind. Die Darstellung des Malachitgrün-Radikals in kristallisierter Form wird beschrieben. Die sog. „Überoxydation“ der Triphenylmethan-Farbsalze mit „Chlortetroxyd“ führt zu Disalzen. Die Chinone werden als anionische Quasi-diradikale formuliert, von denen ebenfalls merichinoide Monosalze ableitbar sind. Triaryl-amine und Tetraaryl-hydrazine können als einwertige Kation-Quasiradikale behandelt werden: sie liefern radikalartige Aminium- und Hydraziniumsalze. Diaryl-stickstoff verhält sich als Anion-Radikal. Die Bildung und Konstitution von Chinhydronen wird erläutert. Farbige Verbindungen nach O. N. Witt werden im Rahmen der entwickelten Anschauungen untersucht.

Notes: Rauwolfia serpentina-Inhaltsstoffe, bereits aus der älteren medizinischen Literatur Indiens bekannt, werden in neuerer Zeit gegen Schlaflosigkeit, als Beruhigungsmittel und blutdrucksenkende Substanzen verwendet. Bisher wurden ungefähr 15 Rauwolfia-Alkaloide isoliert. Es handelt sich einmal um quaternäre Anhydroniumbasen (Serpentin, Serpentinin und Alstonin), tertiäre Indolin-Alkaloide (Ajmalin, Rauwolfinin und Semperflorin) und tertiäre Indolbasen (Ajmacilin, Reserpinin, Yohimbin, Reserpin u. a.). Darstellung, pharmakologische Wirkung und Synthese-Versuche werden mitgeteilt.

Notes: Das Grippe-Virus wirkt als Amidase. Kommt es mit Receptoren einer Zelloberfläche in Berührung, so bilden sich Verbindungsstränge, die durch Enzymwirkung wieder abgebaut werden, jedoch sich an anderen Stellen wieder neu bilden. Der Abbau der Rezeptoren vermindert z. B. die elektrophoretische Beweglichkeit der menschlichen roten Blutkörperchen. Die Befähigung des Grippe-Virus zur „Rekombination“ ermöglicht genetische Untersuchungen. Es wird vermutet, daß die Virulenz durch Anhäfung vieler genetischer Einheiten entsteht.

Notes: Das stabile Stickstoff-Isotop 15N läßt sich verhältnismäßig einfach anreichern und in reaktionsfähige Grundverbindungen überführen. Da der 15N nicht austauschfreudig ist und nicht nur massenspektroskopisch, sondern auch UV-spektroskopisch bestimmt werden kann, ist das Arbeiten mit 15N heute relativ einfach. Es wird gezeigt, wie der Reaktionsverlauf zahlreicher grundlegender Umsetzungen, bes. der organischen Chemie, mit Hilfe von 15N geprüft wurde und neue Kenntnisse über die tatsächlichen Bindungsverhältnisse erhalten werden konnten.
