Notes:
It is the purpose of the present publication to show that most of the phenomenological viscoelastic theories developed for bulk polymers can be readily adapted to plastic foams in order to evaluate their mechanical properties. In addition it will be demonstrated how the mechanical properties of open cell plastic foams can be predicted from a few simple compression and relaxation experiments.
