In the literature a water-containing green tantalum chloride is described. Its analytical composition is given by different authors with the formulae Ta6Cl14 · 7 H2O, HTa3Cl7 · 4 H2O and Ta3Cl7O · 3 H2O. By determination of Ta, Cl, H2O and the oxidation number we were now able to prove the formula Ta6Cl14 · 8 H2O.

In der Literatur ist ein wasserhaltiges grünes Tantalchlorid beschrieben, dessen analytische Zusammensetzung mit den Formeln Ta6Cl14 · 7 H2O, HTa3Cl7 · 4 H2O und Ta3Cl7O · 3 H2O angegeben wird. Eine Entscheidung zwischen diesen Formeln stand bisher aus. Durch Bestimmung von Ta, Cl, H2O und der Oxydationszahl wird die Formel Ta6Cl14 · 8 H2O nachgewiesen.
