Summary It was demonstrated in cats that the mechanism of endothrombolysis caused by streptokinase is decisive for the lysis of artifically induced intravascular clots. These experiments suggest that the state of plasminaemia is not significant for thrombolytic therapy and should be kept short in order to avoid severe disturbances of the clotting system. This can be achieved by a sufficient high priming dose of streptokinase which according to our experiences amounts to 750.000 E SK in man.

Zusammenfassung Im Tierversuch konnte gezeigt werden, daß der Mechanismus der Endothrombolyse durch SK nicht nur möglich, sondern für die Auflösung künstlich erzeugter intravasaler Thromben entscheidend ist. Für die Thrombolyse dürfte daher die Plasminämie bedeutungslos sein und sollte deshalb zur Vermeidung von Gerinnungsstörungen abgekürzt werden. Dies gelingt im allgemeinen durch eine ausreichend hohe initiale SK-Dosierung, die beim Patienten nach unseren vorläufigen Erfahrungen 750000 E beträgt.
