Zusammenfassung In 160 statischen Kompressionsversuchen wurden die Brust- und Lendenbandscheiben von 10 Leichen untersucht. Die Zwischenwirbelscheiben verhielten sich wie homogene elastische Körper. Außer dem Elastizitätsmodul und der Druckfestigkeit wurde die von den Bandscheiben während der elastischen Verformung tolerierte Verformungsarbeit ermittelt, die als ein Ausdruck ihrer Federkapazität angesehen werden kann.

Summary Thoracic and lumbar discs were investigated in 160 static compression experiments. The discs reacted as homogene elastic bodies. In addition to Young's modul and load capacity the work of deformation which was tolerated by the discs during elastic deformation was measured, which can be taken as a result of their capacity of elasticity.
