Zusammenfassung Die einseitige Agenesie der weiblichen Brust wurde nach Analyse von 26 eigenen Patienten als Leitsymptom einer komplexen Hemmungsbildung einer oberen Extremitätenknospe erkannt. Ausprägungsformen und Schweregrade werden systematisiert und therapeutische Schlußfolgerungen gezogen.

Summary Unilateral agensis of the female breast, analyzed with reference to 26 cases seen in our own clinic, is recognized as a key symptom of a complex deformity of the upper “Extremitätenknospe“ (extremity bud). Degrees of severity are specified and the therapeutic consequences are outlined.
