Summary A 59 year old patient underwent percutaneous transluminal coronary angioplasty of a de novo stenosis of the proximal right coronary artery. Vessel perforation occurred after balloon angioplasty and was successfully treated by implantation of a new stent graft, which completely covered the perforation without residual leakage. Emergency coronary surgery could, thus, be avoided.

Zusammenfassung Ein 59jähriger nierentransplantierter Patient wurde an einer De-novo-Stenose der rechten Herzkranzarterie mittels perkutaner transluminaler Koronarangioplastie behandelt. Im Rahmen dieser Intervention wurde das Gefäß an umschriebener Stelle perforiert. Die Perforationsstelle konnte mittels eines neuartigen Koronarstents mit integrierter Kunststoffmembran (Stent-Graft) abgedichtet werden, so daß ein kardiochirurgischer Notfalleingriff umgangen wurde.
