By means of inelastic neutron scattering experiments, we have determined the excitation energy of the first excited state in the magnetic exchange coupled Cu four-nucleus complex [CuCl (OCD2CD2N (C2D5)2)]4. We found for the transition energy the value 4.3 meV, in good agreement with results of magnetic susceptibility experiments. The magnetic origin of this excitation is demonstrated by its temperature and momentum dependence.
