Types of corrosion, and the behaviour of metals and additives in firing plantsThe SO2 and O2 corrosion phenomena, accelerated by NA2SO4 and V2O5 at higher temperatures, have been subjected to experimental research. The behaviour of composite catalyzer consisting of Na2SO4 and V2O5 is determined. The effects of Aerosil as an additive designed to reduce these types of corrosion is described with the aid of an operational Aerosil dosing plant. The oxidation of SO2 into H2SO4 in the presence of water vapour on oil soot is investigated, and the corrosive effects are measured.

Die durch Na2SO4und V2O5 bei höheren Temperaturen beschleunigten SO2 und O2 Korrosionen werden experimentell untersucht. Das Verhalten von Mischkatalysatoren aus Na2SO4 and V2O5 wird bestimmt. Die Bedeutung des Aerosils als Additiv zur Verminderung der genannten Korrosionen wird anhand einer betrieblichen Dosieranlage für Aerosil beschrieben. Die Oxydation des SO3 zu H2 SO4 bei Gegenwart von Wasserdampf an Ölruß wird untersucht; die korrosiven Auswirkungen werden gemessen.
