Photochemically Enforced Crowding of Ligands: The Crystal Structure of Mn2(CO)6C5H5As(CH3)2Dicarbonyl(cyclopentadienyl)-μ -(dimethylarsenido)-(tetracarbonylmanganio)manganese, Mn2(CO)6C5H5As(CH3)2 (4), crystallizes in the orthorhombic space group Pbca with eight molecules in the unit cell. The two manganese atoms in 4 are held together by a metal-metal bond (2.91 Å), which is supported by an arsine bridge (Mn-As = 2.35 and 2.36 Å). The Mn-As-Mn nucleus of the complex is surrounded by ligands so densely, that bending of a terminal CO group to a Mn-C-O angle of 160° is enforced.
    Notes: Dicarbonyl(cyclopentadienyl)-μ-(dimethylarsenido)-(tetracarbonylmanganio)mangan, Mn2-(CO)6C5H5As(CH3)2 (4), kristallisiert orthorhombisch in der Raumgruppe Pbca mit acht Molekülen in der Elementarzelle. Die beiden Manganatome in 4, werden durch eine Metall-Metall-Bindung (2.91 Å) zusammengehalten, die durch eine Arsin-Brücke (Mn-As = 2.35 und 2.36 Å) unterstützt wird. Der Mn-As-Mn-Kern des Komplexes ist so dicht von Liganden umgeben, daß die Abknickung einer terminalen CO-Gruppe auf einen Mn-C-O-Winkel von 160° erzwungen wird.
