Studies on the Reactivity of Metal π-Complexes, XXXII. On the Reactivity of Bis(2-methylallyl)palladium and -platinum towards Tertiary PhosphanesPd(2-MeC3H4)2 (1) reacts with tricyclohexylphosphane to form (2-MeC3H4)2 PdPCy3 (3) which is fluxional in benzene solution at room temperature. The platinum complex (2-MeC3H4)2-PtP(i-Pr)3 (4), obtained from Pt(2-MeC3H4)2 (2) and triisopropylphosphane, is rigid in toluene solution up to 90°C and possesses one trihapto-(π-) and one monohapto-(σ-) bonded allylic ligand.
