    Notes: 1-Methyl-7-norbornylidene. Selective Alkyl Shifts of Carbenes1-Methyl-7-norbornylidene (14), generated from the sodium salt of the analogous tosylhydrazone (7), rearranges preferentially with migration of the C-1-C-2 (C-1-C-6) bond. The ratios of 2-methyl- over 5-methylbicyclo[3.2.0]heptenes (15 + 16:20) range from 5 (thermolysis, 290°C to 21 (photolysis, 25°C).
