Notes: Das Monomere des in seinen elektrischen Eigenschaften außerordentlich wertvollen Polystyrols (Styroflex, Trolitul), das Styrol wird hauptsächlich durch katalytische Dehydrierung des Äthylbenzols gewonnen. Letzteres kann nicht nur aus Benzol und Äthylen mit AlCl3 o.a. Katalysatoren, sondern am geeigneten Kontakt direkt aus Benzol und Äthylalkohol kontinuierlich hergestellt werden, wobei als Nebenprodukte Diäthyläther und höher äthylierte Benzole entstehen.
