The Photochemistry of Reduced Ketocyclones, II. - The Photoreaction of 1,3-Diphenyl- 1,2,3,8-tetrahydrocyclopent[a]indene-2,8-dionePhotolysis of dihydroindanocyclone 4 in benzene yields mainly two isomeric carboxylic acids 5 and 6; the expected decarbonylation product 7 appears only in low yield. The isomer 11 is formed on attempted decarboxylation of the acids 5 and 6.

Die Photolyse des Dihydroindanocyclons 4 in Benzol führt hauptsächlich zu den isomeren Carbonsäuren 5 und 6; ein Decarbonylierungsprodukt 7, dessen ausschließliche Bildung erwartet wurde, tritt nur untergeordnet auf. Sein Isomeres 11 wird beim Versuch der Decarboxylierung der Säuren 5 und 6 gebildet.
