The cyclization of the 5-hexenyl radical to form the cyclopentylmethyl radical has been reexamined by kinetic EPR spectroscopy at temperatures between 183 and 232°K in cyclopropane solvent. The rate constant, kc for this important radical rearrangement can be represented by \documentclass{article}\pagestyle{empty}\begin{document}$$ \log k_c (\sec ^{ - 1}) = (9.5 \pm 1.1) - (6.1 \pm 1.1)/\theta $$\end{document} where Θ = 2.3RT kcal/mol.
