    Notes: 1. Previous findings disproving the identity of liver aldolase (1-phosphofructaldolase) and cristalline muscle aldolase (1,6-diphosphofructaldolase) have been confirmed and extended. Highly purified muscle aldolase does not split fructose-1-phosphate even at concentrations of 0,5 mg enzyme/ml. (Optical method: oxydation of (DPN)H2 in the presence of phosphoglycerol dehydrogenase). High purity of the enzyme is essential to prove its specificity for fructose diphosphate.
