Notes: The method of initial strain is replaced by a method of initial displacements and applied to simple four-noded membrane and shell elements. The thermal stresses in nodes are improved for quadrilaterals and hexahedrons, which have a discrepancy between interpolation functions for temperature (linear) and strains (constant). To get initial displacements, the singular element stiffness matrix has to be inverted. Minor changes in subroutine MINV3 (enclosed version STDMNV) were made to do this.
