Notizen: By use of a collocation time finite element formulation a modification of the well-known generalized midpoint method is derived. The new family possesses an additional free parameter. This allows for significant improvement of the numerical solution in strongly nonlinear situations. Numerical results show the accuracy of the proposed algorithm in comparison to the midpoint method.
