The electrical characterization of high resistance polymers is of growing interest. Appreciable advances of the knowledge on the electrical properties have been achieved in the past ten years. In the present paper are discussed the relevant specifities of polymers, charge transport and effect of polymer structure and aging on the charge carrier transport, on the generation of charge carriers and on the TSD spectrum.

Die elektrische Charakterisierug hochohmiger Polymere gewinnt zunehmend an Interesse. Ein bemerkenswerter Erkenntnisgewinn über deren elektrische Eigenschaften konnte im letzten Jahrzehnt erreicht werden. Von den anstehenden Problemen werden die zu beachtenden Polymerspezifika, der Ladungstransport und der Einfluß der Polymerstruktur und der Alterung auf den Stromträgertransport, die Stromträgergeneration und auf das TSD-Spektrum diskutiert.
