Notes:
Conclusions 1. Nitriding of niobium and its alloys increases the ultimate strength by 50–100% at room temperature. 2. Nitriding increases the heat resistance of niobium and its alloys 30–150% in short-term and longterm tests. 3. The strengthening effect is due to coherent precipitation of dispersed nitride phases with a high dissociation temperature.
