Conclusions 1. The concentration of sex steroid hormones in the peripheral blood of female sable already reaches the values established in reproducing animals at five months of age. The increase in body weight also ends within the indicated period. 2. In February to March the hormonal activity of the ovaries is already increased in 10–11-month-old female sable, which corresponds to the “spring revival” in the behavior of sexually mature wild sable. The activation of the endocrine function of the gonads during this period is more pronounced in animals in the second year of life. 3. At 14–16 months of age (period of reproduction of sable), the endocrine function of the ovaries is increased.
