Summary Application of a synthetic progestin in guineapigs for 4 weeks is followed by a decrease of the 17-hydroxycorticosteroid excretion in urine. After cessation of treatment the „rebound effect“ with exceeding urinary 17-OHCS indicates the reappearance of undiminished adrenal function, occuring earlier than in cortisone-treated animals. Combined treatment with both hormones does not seem to produce an additional depression, compared with the effects of the single substances alone.

Zusammenfassung 4wöchige Behandlung mit einem synthetischen Progesteronderivat, 1,2 α-Methylen-6-Chloro-Δ 6–17 α-Hydroxyprogesteronacetat, führt beim Meerschweinchen zu einer Verminderung der 17-Hydroxycorticosteroidausscheidung im Harn. Nach Absetzen der Behandlung tritt die überschießende Ausscheidung (Rebound-Effekt) als Ausdruck des Wiederingangkommens der normalen Nebennierenrindenfunktion früher als bei mit Cortison behandelten Tieren ein. Kombinierte Anwendung beider Hormone in gleicher Dosierung bewirkt dagegen keine Verstärkung, sondern eher eine Abschwächung der Einzelwirkungen.
