Summary With a method for determination of collagenolytic activities developed previously by us, we tested sera of normal persons of different ages. A maximum of activity appears from 31 to 40 years. The activity falls with increasing age, according to decreasing collagen turnover.

Zusammenfassung Mit einer durch uns entwickelten Methode zur Bestimmung kollagenolytischer Aktivitäten in Geweben und Serum untersuchten wir Normalpersonen verschiedenen Alters. In der Altersgruppe von 31–40 Jahren zeigt die Aktivität ein Maximum. Mit weiter ansteigendem Alter fällt entsprechend dem absinkenden Kollagen-turnover die kollagenolytische Aktivität ab.
