Summary New methods were developed for determination of total and direct bilirubin from serum. These methods economize because of their simplicity a lot of chemicals, time and work. For determination of total serum bilirubin by the oxydative reagent chloramin T destroying of bilirubin at the blank sample; photometric measurement of bilirubin absorption band of sample. With a modification of the diazo method only one solution is necessary for determination of direct bilirubin after initial dilution of serum.

Zusammenfassung Es wurde eine Methode zur Bestimmung des Gesamtbilirubins entwickelt, die auf der Messung der Bilirubinabsorptionsbande bei 460 nm beruht. Eine neue Modifikation der Diazomethode ermöglicht die Bestimmung des direkten Bilirubins mit nur einer Lösung, die nacheinander Leerprobe und Meßprobe darstellt. Beide Methoden sind in ihrer Einfachheit mit wesentlichen Einsparungen an Reagenzien, Arbeit und Zeit verbunden.
