Summary The detection of oxalic acid by the formation of aniline blue, as described byFeigl andFrehden, can be performed on minute samples of leather which have not been treated previously. Thus, the oxalic acid content may be estimated.
Abstract:
Résumé Feigl etFrehden ont décrit une réaction, permettant de décéler l'acide oxalique par formation de bleu lumière. Cette réaction peut être exécutée sur de tout petits échantillons de cuir, n'ayant subit aucun traitement préalable; par son intensité elle permet une évaluation approximative de la teneur en acide oxalique.

Zusammenfassung Der vonFeigl undFrehden beschriebene Nachweis von Oxalsäure durch Bildung von Anilinblau kann unmittelbar auf unvorbehandelten, ganz kleinen Lederproben ausgeführt werden und gestattet eine Schätzung des Oxalsäuregehaltes.
