Notes: The influence of particles suspended in a fluid on the effective mass density of the suspension is studied. It is shown how at high concentration the low-density, single-particle behavior is modified by retarded hydrodynamic interactions. To simplify the calculation we make a point particle approximation and take account only of two-body hydrodynamic interactions. It is found that the effective mass density depends on frequency.
