Notes:
The effects of prostaglandin F2α on the function of the human placenta has been studied during induction of labour in prolonged pregnancies. The serum levels of human chorionic somatomammotrophin, human chorionic gonadotrophin, progesterone and heat-stable alkaline phosphatase were estimated at short intervals. There were no significant changes during the administration of various doses of PGF2α when compared with spontaneous labour. No adverse effects of this compound on placental function have been observed.
