Notizen: The inversion of a gravity profile associated with a twodimensional distribution of mass with constant difference in density is dealt with, in an initial approximation, by using a polynomial of appropriate degree. The method can be applied successfully, for example, to sedimentary basins.Some examples confirm the applicability of the method, which can be readily programmed on a computer.
