Summary The psychical symptoms accompanying troubles of the thyroid gland which belong to the endocrine syndrome fade away after a successful treatment, in close relation of time with the physical symptoms. A progressive recovery from the psychical trouble or, on the contrary, a persistence of the deviations for weeks, are part of the usual picture. However, a longer persistence of the psychopathological phenomenons after a physical recovery, above all, if there are symptoms of a depressive state of ill-humor, indicate a secondary disease. According to our observations, one must, above all, take into consideration the phasic psychoses, but also other troubles, as it is shown by the example of the woman-patient suffering from progressive Parkinson's disease. Independently of the complex problems of the pathogenic connections which present themselves in every particular case, our investigations furnish indications for the evaluation of the psychopathological symptoms of the troubles of the thyroid gland.

Résumé Les symptômes psychiques accompagnant des maladies de la glande thyroïde qui appartiennent au syndrome endocrine diminuent après un traitement couronné de succès, en étroite relation de temps avec les symptômes physiques. Un rétablissement progressif du trouble psychique ou, au contraire, une persistance des déviations pendant des semaines font partie de l'image usuelle. Pourtant, une persistance plus longue des phénomènes psychopathologiques après un rétablissement physique, surtout s'il y a des symptômes d'un état dépressif de mauvaise humeur, indique une maladie secondaire. D'après nos observations, il faut surtout prendre en considération des psychoses phasiques, mais aussi d'autres maladies, comme le montre l'exemple de la patiente souffrant de la maladie de Parkinson progressive. Indépendamment des problèmes complexes des connexions pathogéniques qui se présentent dans chaque cas particulier, nos recherches fournissent des indications pour l'évaluation des symptômes psychopathologiques des maladies de la glande thyroïde.

Zusammenfassung Die in das endokrine Psychosyndrom gehörige psychische Begleitsymptomatik bei Schilddrüsenerkrankungen klingt nach erfolgreicher Therapie in engem zeitlichem Zusammenhang mit den körperlichen Krankheitszeichen ab. Eine voraneilende Besserung der psychischen Störungen oder aber ein Überdauern der Abweichungen um Wochen gehört zum gewöhnlichen Bild. Dagegen spricht eine längere Persistenz psychopathologischer Phänomene nach körperlicher Besserung, insbesondere, wenn sie die Symptomatik eines depressiven Verstimmungszustandes aufweisen, für eine Zweiterkrankung. Nach unseren Beobachtungen sind dann in erster Linie phasische Psychosen, aber wie das Beispiel der Patientin mit einem progredienten Parkinson zeigt, auch andere Erkrankungen in Betracht zu ziehen. Unabhängig von der komplexen, sich in jedem Einzelfall neu stellenden Problematik pathogenetischer Zusammenhänge, ergeben sich aus unseren Untersuchungen Hinweise für die Bewertung psychopathologischer Symptome bei Schilddrüsenerkrankungen.
