    Notes: Zusammenfassung Die Bestimmung der HWZ von Fettpartikeln im Blut mit Hilfe intravenös injizierter radioaktiv markierter Fettemulsionen wird beschrieben. Es wird diskutiert, wieweit ein darauf aufbauender Test Einblick in den Chylomikronenstoffwechsel geben kann. Die Brauchbarkeit des Testes wird an größeren Personengruppen geprüft. Bei normolipämischen Personen beträgt die HWZ 3,74±0,69 min. Bei Hyperlipämien lassen sich zwei Formen trennen. Mögliche Gründe für die Verlängerung der HWZ bei Hyperlipämien werden diskutiert.

    Notes: Microfracture mechanisms of Zr-based bulk metallic glass (BMG) alloy containingductile crystalline particles were investigated by directly observing microfracture processes usingan in situ loading stage. Strength of the BMG alloy containing crystalline particles was lower thanthat of the monolithic BMG alloy, while ductility was higher. According to the direct microfractureobservation, crystalline particles initiated shear bands, acted as blocking sites of shear band or crackpropagation, and provided the stable crack growth which could be confirmed by the R-curveanalysis, although they negatively affected apparent fracture toughness. This increase in fractureresistance with increasing crack length improved overall fracture properties of the alloy containingcrystalline particles, and could be explained by mechanisms of blocking of crack or shear bandpropagation, formation of multiple shear bands, crack blunting, and shear band branching

    Description / Table of Contents: Zusammenfassung Im Corpuscarcinom des Menschen zeigt die alkalische Phosphatase keine signifikanten Unterschiede in histologisch unterschiedlich aufgebauten Carcinomen. Auch die Wachstumsart des Carcinoms führt nicht zu einer signifikanten Veränderung der Phosphataseaktivität. Die Ergebnisse bestätigen jedoch Ansichten von Histochemikern, daß im endophytischen Corpuscarcinom die Phosphataseaktivität höher als im exophytischen ist. Ebenso weisen solide Carcinome eine geringere Aktivität der alkalischen Phosphatase als tubuläre Carcinome auf. Die Verteilung in der Zelle des Carcinoms entspricht der Phosphataseverteilung in anderen Geweben. Die Leucinaminopeptidase ist in infiltrativen Carcinomen signifikant höher als in nichtinfiltrativen und hängt anscheinend mit der destruktiven Eigenschaft eines Tumors zusammen. Die geringe LAP-Aktivität im nekrotischen Carcinomgewebe bestätigt die Annahme, daß die Leucinaminopeptidase immer einen Hinweis auf die Stoffwechselaktivität der untersuchten Gewebe ergibt.
    Notes: Summary In histologically different human endometrial carcinoma alcaline phosphatase shows no significant differences. There are as well no significant differences in activity of alcaline phosphatase in carcinomas of different pattern of growth. The results however conform the opinion of histochemists that phosphatase activity is higher in endophytic growing endometrial carcinoma than in the exophytic variety. Solid carcinomas have less activity of alcaline phosphatase than tubular carcinomas. The distribution of phosphatase in the carcinoma cell corresponds to its distribution in other tissues. So-called leucineaminopeptidase is significantly higher in infiltrating carcinomas than in the noninfiltrating variety and obviously corresponds to the destructive property of a tumor. The low leucineaminopeptidase-activity in necrotic carcinoma gives reason to believe that so-called leucineaminopeptidase always points to the metabolic activity of the examined tissue.     Notes: Zusammenfassung Corpus luteum und Corpus rubrum von Schweineovarien wurden auf proteolytische Enzyme, saure und alkalische Phosphatase untersucht. Die Herstellung von Zellfraktionen erfolgte nach der Methode vonLang undSiebert. Bei pH 3,5 findet sich eine außerordentlich hohe proteolytische Aktivität im Corpus luteum. Diese beträgt für 1 ml Homogenat 21450γ Tyrosin/Std, was einer Aktivität von 64350γ Tyrosin/g Frischgewebe/Std entspricht. Die proteolytische Aktivität des Corpus rubrum ist nur 1/10 so hoch wie die des Corpus luteum. Die saure Phosphatase bei pH 5,0 ist über zweimal so hoch wie die Aktivität der alkalischen Phosphatase bei pH 9,0. Es wird diskutiert, ob zwischen der hohen proteolytischen Aktivität des Corpus luteum und den auf das Corpus luteum wirksamen Proteohormonen eine Beziehung bestehen könnte.

    Description / Table of Contents: Zusammenfassung Biochemische Untersuchungen am Homogenat von 51 Ovarialcarcinomen ergeben, daß die Aminopeptidaseaktivität im Durchschnitt nicht höher als im normalen Ovarium ist. Die erhebliche Streuung der Einzelergebnisse findet ihre Erklärung im unterschiedlichen histologischen Typ und einer vorausgehenden Behandlung. Enzymhistochemische Untersuchungen an 135 Ovarialcarcinomen mit entsprechender Methodik zeigen eine Reaktion entweder im Tumorepithel, oder unabhängig davon im Bindegewebe. Das Vorkommen von Aminopeptidasen im Tumorepithel steht im wesentlichen mit sekretorischen Eigenschaften oder einer Degeneration der Zellen, nicht aber mit der Lokalisation des Tumors, dem Ausbreitungsstadium und einer vorangehenden Behandlung in Zusammenhang. In serösen Carcinomen ist jedoch nach einer Endoxantherapie die Farbreaktion vermehrt. Das Enzymvorkommen im Bindegewebe ist dagegen einerseits an sog. enzymaktive, thekaähnliche Zellen (peritumoral, starke Reaktion) gebunden. Andererseits treten Aminopeptidasen nach einer Bestrahlung (diffus, schwache Reaktion) im Bindegewebe auf. Eine Beziehung zum invasiven Wachstum läßt sich beim Ovarialcarcinom wegen seines bevorzugt exophytischen Wachstums nicht feststellen.
    Notes: Summary The average activity of aminopeptidases in homogenised specimens of 51 ovarian carcinomas corresponds to enzyme activity in normal ovary. The considerable variety of results can be explained by different histological type and the preceding treatment. — Investigations of 135 cases of ovarian carcinomas by means of histochemical technique show a reaction either in epithelium or, independently, in connective tissue. The incidence of aminopeptidases in epithelium of tumor essentially corresponds to secretory function of the cells or to their degeneration. There if no relation, however, to localization of tumor, its clinical stage, and a preceding treatment with X-rays. Aminopeptidases in the stroma can be localised in the socalled enzymatically active stromal cells (strong reaction adjacent to the epithelium). On the other hand aminopeptidases appear in stroma of the carcinoma after treatment by X-rays especially in metastases in the omentum (diffuse, weak reaction). Because of its favoured exophytic growth there cannot be found a correspondence between enzyme activity in stroma and invasive growth.

    Description / Table of Contents: Zusammenfassung Unter der Geburt steigt die Gesamtaktivität von Lactatdehydrogenase im Plasma Kreißender signifikant an. Dieser Anstieg setzt sich noch bis zum 1. Wochenbettstag fort um zum 3. Wochenbettstag wieder signifikant abzusinken. Die kinetische Analyse der Isoenzyme zeigt, daß die Zunahme der Gesamtaktivität ausschließlich auf eine Zunahme von M-Untereinheiten zurückgeführt werden kann. Es wird angenommen, daß die passagere energetische Insuffizienz von Skelet- und insbesondere Uterusmuskulatur während der Geburt, die Involution des Uterus im Wochenbett Ursache der erhöhten Enzymaktivität darstellen und das Isoenzymmuster im Plasma muskeltypisch prägen.
    Notes: Summary Maternal plasma total lactic dehydrogenase activity increases significantly during parturition. This elevation continues until the 1. day of puerperium, followed by a significant decrease at the 3. day. As shown by a kinetic analysis of isoenzymes, the rise of total LDH-activity results from an exclusive increase of M-subunits. It is assumed, that the rise of enzyme activity, and the shift of plasma isoenzyme pattern to the muscle type is due to the temporary energetic insufficiency of skeletal and uterine muscle during parturition, and to the involution of uterus during puerperium.

    Notes: The microstructure and mechanical properties of Ti joints brazed with aZr41.2Ti13.8Ni10.0Cu12.5Be22.5 (at.%) amorphous filler were investigated. With a Zr-based amorphousfiller, in this study, Ti joints with a homogeneous composition could be obtained by heating to wellbelow the α-β transformation temperature for a short time, so that the undesirable effects of the hightemperature heating are considerably diminished. The joints brazed at 790 °C for 10 min consisted ofthe coarse acicular structure rather than the fine Widmanstätten structure which generally deterioratesthe ductility of the joints. The joints with the homogenous coarse acicular structure, i.e. without aresidual liquid region, show almost the same mechanical properties as those required for base metalswithout heating. Although the residual liquid region in the joints deteriorates the ductility of the joints,this region could be successfully removed by a diminution in the quantity of the filler

    Notes: In this study, joining characteristics of dissimilar Ti and Cu metals have beeninvestigated, when using both an Ag-based eutectic alloy as a filler and an Ag layer present on Tibase metal as a diffusion barrier. The observed microstructures were classified into threecharacteristic types, depending on the presence of a Ag layer at the Ti interface, e.g. first, thesample retaining thick continuous intermetallic layers, e.g. Ti2Cu, TiCu, Ti3Cu4, Ti2Cu3, and TiCu4by a significant dissolution of the Ti atoms into the molten filler, in the absence of a Ag coatinglayer onto the Ti base metal, second, the sample with relatively thin Ti-Cu intermetallic layers bythe reduced reaction of Ti with Cu due to a prominent decrease in the Ti dissolution, owing to therole of the Ag coating layer as a diffusion barrier, and finally, the sample without any brittle Ti-Cuintermetallics in the joint by a complete suppression of both the dissolution of the Ti atoms and itsreaction with the Cu elements in the molten filler due to the presence of a Ag layer

    Notes: Highly dense Y2O3 ceramics have been fabricated by a magnetic pulsed compaction(MPC) which is capable of reaching a sufficiently high pressure (~1GPa) in a very short duration (afew microseconds), and a subsequent pressureless sintering at 1600℃. The Y2O3 green bodies witha relative density of about 68% were achieved by the application of the MPC process due to theeffect of an enhanced rearrangement and a high speed movement of the particles, without the helpof ceramic binder. Those compacts showed densities greater than 95%, which is very close to thetheoretical density, after the subsequent pressureless sintering process at 1600 oC. The shrinkagerates of the diameter for the samples compacted by the MPC process were markedly reduced, whencompared to those for the ones by the conventional compaction (CC) process
