Notes: Abstract A variety of homometallic (Cp*Ru+) and heterometallic (CpFe+–Cp*Ru+) oligomers with one to five metal moieties were prepared in high yields (74–90%) via nucleophilic aromatic substitution reactions. For the mixed metal systems, it is shown that the arrangement of the metal moieties along the backbone can be controlled. In addition, the synthesis of heterometallic polymers is described, along with their decomplexation and thermal properties. It was found that the thermal properties and solubility of the systems are greatly dependent on the linkages within the polymer backbone.

Notes: [Auszug] IN examining fungi for antibiotic metabolic products1, several were observed to inhibit the acid-fast Mycobacterium phlei. In view of the possibility of their inhibiting the closely related M. tuberculosis, the responsible materials are being studied more closely, and the present ...

Notes: [Auszug] IT was shown recently1 that under specified cultural conditions the whole of the antibacterial activity of metabolism solutions from Aspergillus effusus Tiraboschi can be attributed to kojic acid. It was suggested that this common mould metabolic product might similarly account ...

Notes: [Auszug] EARLIER communications1,2,3 described the production of an antibiotic pigment, javanicin, by Fusarium javanicum, and other Fusaria were also observed1 to give rise to antibiotic metabolism solutions. So far, the examination of twenty-two Fusarium strains has revealed a frequent property of this ...

Notes: The mass spectra of a series of metal complexes of dibenzoylmethane have been rationalized. The paths of novel rearrangement reactions involving both hydrogen and oxygen migration may differ according to the type of metal atom in the complex. Further examples are proposed of the effect of metal valency changes in ion reactions.
