Notes:
Summary The visible absorption spectra, the electron microphotographs and the optical microphotograph of the cellulosic fibres dyed with direct dyes were observed in comparison with Acridine Orange free base (AO). Furthermore, dyeing was carried out in a thermostat bath at 90 ± 1, 80 ± 1, and 70 ± 1 °C. From the results, the change of enthalpy,ΔH° for the dyeing was calculated.Δh° of AO was very small in comparison with other direct dyes, and AO in the cellulosic fibres has predominantly crystallized property. The result was expressed as follows: Crystallized tendency =(dye-dye interaction) -(dye-fibre interaction).
