    Description / Table of Contents: Zusammenfassung Es wird über ein riesenhaftes Ganglioneurom als Ursache für eine progrediente Lumbalskoliose bei einem 16jährigen Mädchen berichtet. Zwischen dem Beginn der orthopädischen Skoliosebehandlung und der Diagnose der wahren Ursache der Skoliose sind mehr als 4 Jahre vergangen, so daß ein riesenhafter, teils intrakanalikulär, teils retroperitoneal wachsender Tumor sowie die Destruktion von 4 Lendenwirbelkörpern entstehen konnte. Neben der Beschreibung der kombinierten neurochirurgischen allgemeinchirurgischen und orthopädich-chirurgischen Therapie werden die Ergebnisse der licht-, immun- und elektronenmikroskopischen Untersuchungen sowie neurochemischen Analysen des resezierten Tumors mitgeteilt.
    Notes: Summary A giant ganglioneuroma generating a progressive scoliosis in a 16-year-old girl is presented. The interval between the start of the orthopaedic treatment and the diagnosis of the true nature of the disease was more than 4 years, thus allowing the development of a giant partly intracanalicularly partly retroperitonealy expanding tumormass. The report emphasizes and describes the combined neurosurgical, general surgical and orthopaedic surgical treatment and presents the results of light- and electron microsopical, immunohistochemical and quantitative neurochemical investigations of the resected tumor.

    Description / Table of Contents: Separation of oligomeric trimerisates of difunctional aromatic cyanic acid esters is shown to be possible by the HPLC-gradient-elution-technique in THF/H2O on RP8-modified silicagel phases. The stepgrowth mechanism of the polycyclotrimerisation reaction was supported by quantitative analysis.
    Notes: Durch Gradientenelution in THF/H2O an RP8-modifizierten Kieselgel-Phasen gelingt eine Auftrennung oligomerer Trimerisate difunktioneller aromatischer Cyansäureester. Der Stufenmechanismus der Polycyclotrimerisierung wird durch quantitative Auswertung bestätigt.

    Description / Table of Contents: By DSC-experiments with constant heating rate or under isothermal conditions the complex character of the thermal polycyclotrimerisation of 2,2-bis(4-cyanatophenyl)propane in bulk is shown. An activation energy of 80 kJ/mol for the first order brutto kinetics is calculated by several methods.
    Notes: Aus DSC-Messungen mit konstanter Heizrate und unter isotherman Bedingungen wird der komplexe Charakter der thermischen Polycyclotrimerisierung von 2,2-Bis(4-cyanatophenyl)propan in der Schmelze ersichtlich. Für die Bruttoreaktion 1. Ordnung wird nach verschiedenen Auswertemethoden eine Aktivierungsenergie von 80 kJ/mol erhalten.

    Description / Table of Contents: It is shown that the CN stretching band in the region 2200 to 2300 cm-1 is suitable for fast and reliable evaluation of the OCN-conversion in soluble and gelled trimerisates of aromatic cyanic acid esters. As an internal standard the aromatic CH-stretch band is used.
    Notes: Es wird gezeigt, daß die charakteristische CN-Valenzschwingungsbande im Bereich von 2200 bis 2300 cm-1 zur schnellen und sicheren Bestimmung des OCN-Umsatzes in löslichen und gelierten Trimerisierungsprodukten aromatischer Cyansäureester geeignet ist. Als innerer Standard findet dabei die aromatische CH-Valenzschwingungsbande Verwendung.

    Description / Table of Contents: A model of the reaction between glycidylethers and aromatic cyanates is established. It was found that the trimerization of cyanates, the insertion of glycidylethers, the isomerisation of alkylcyanurates, the oxazolidinone build up, the abstraction of the phenols, and the phenol/glycidylether-addition are the main reactions.
    Notes: Ein Reaktionsmodell der Umsetzung von Glycidethern mit aromatischen Cyansäureestern wird begründet. Als Hauptreaktionen wurden die Trimerisierung der Cyansäureester, die Einschubreaktion der Glycidether in die Cyanuratstruktur, die Isomerisierung der Alkylcyanurate, die Oxazolidinonbildung, die Phenolabspaltung und die Phenol/Glycidether-Addition gefunden.

    Description / Table of Contents: Molecular weight distributions of branched poly(phenylquinoxa1ines) synthesized by polycondensation of aromatic bis(l,2-diamines) with bis- and tris(l,2-diketones) were calculated based on a special a-priori branching model from gelchromatographic and viscosimetric data. Under the rcactioti conditions considered random reaction of all functional groups is suggested.
    Notes: Die Molmassenverteilungen von durch Polykondensation aromatischer Bis(1,2-diamine) mit Bis- und Tris(1,2-diketonen) synthetisierten verzweigten Polyphenylchinoxalinen wurden auf der Grundlage eines speziellen a-priori-Verzweigungsmodells aus gelchromatographischen und viskosimetrischen Daten berechnet. Damit kann für die angewendeten Synthesebedingungen eine zufällige Reaktion aller funktionellen Gruppen angenommen werden.

    Description / Table of Contents: Die Kinetik der thermischen Polycyclotrimerisierung von 2,2-Bis(4-cyanatophenyl)propan wurde mit Hilfe von DSC und IR-Spektroskopie untersucht. Der autokatalytische Charakter der Reaktion wurde durch Modellierung der Umsatz-Zeit-Kurven bei Zusatz difinierter Mengen der nachgewiesenen Zwischenprodukte aufgeklärt. Weiterhin wurden quantitative Beziehungen zwischen Reinheitsgrad des Dicyanats, Geschwindigkeit der Bruttoreaktion, Lage des DSC-Maximums und B-Zeit gefunden.
    Notes: The kinetics of polycyclotrimerization of 2,2-bis(4-cyanatophenyl)propane was analyzed by differential scanning calorimetry and IR spectroscopy. The autocatalytic character of the reaction was elucidated by modelling the conversion-time curves of systems with definite admixtures of the found intermediate products. Furthermore, quantitative relations between the purity of the dicyanate, the rate of the brutto reaction, the temperature of the DSC maximum, and the B-time of the resin were found.

    Description / Table of Contents: The average bond lengths and bond angles of the structural units of polycyanurates synthesized by polycyclotrimerization of 2,2-bis(4-cyanatophenyl)propane were measured by single crystal X-ray analysis of model compounds. An off-lattice Monte Carlo model was developed for the simulation of the geometrical structure of cyanurate oligomers with polymerization degrees up to 31. Excluded volume effects were taken into account in the form of hard spheres. The calculated results show that an occurrence of intramolecular cyclizations, which was supposed in the literature, is possible.
    Notes: Die Größen der Bindungsabstände und -winkel der in Polycyanuraten auf Basis von 2,2-Bis(4-cyanatophenyl)propan auftretenden Strukturelemente wurden durch Röntgenkristallstrukturanalyse von Modellsubstanzen ermittelt. Darauf aufbauend wurde ein Monte-Carlo off-lattice Modell zur Simulation der geometrischen Struktur auftretender Oligomere bis zu einem Polymerisationsgrad 31 entwickelt, in dem Effekte des ausgeschlossenen Volumens in Form von hard-sphere Potentialen berücksichtigt sind. Die Ergebnisse belegen unter anderem die aus experimentellen Daten resultierende Vermutung des Auftretens intramolekularer Cyclisierungen.
