Description / Table of Contents:
Notes:
Summary Three gastric replacement methods were reexamined 2 years postoperatively in patients without recurrence of symptoms. Common criteria for clinical, endoscopical and histological evaluation were used in Ulm and Mannheim (n = 137 of 297 original patients, 1974–1980): Due to the high incidence of reflux esophagitis in patients with esophagojejunostomy with enteroenteroanastomosis (Schloffer), the jejunum pouch (Hunt-Lawrence-Rodino) or jejunal interposition (Longmire) are recommended. These two methods have similarly positive subjective results and a low reflux frequency.
