A series of solution chlorinated atactic polypropylenes with chlorine content in the region 0 to 64% by wt is investigated. The chlorination behaviour can be followed by investigating the course of mole fractions of all unchlorinated and chlorinated groups in dependence on α∑ and the degrees of chlorination of the different groups α(CH), α(CH2), α(CH3), resp. Further, calculated composition curves according to the Bernoulli model of the substitution statistic were considered. Hence it follows, that chlorination of the (—CH2—)-groups seems to be randomly. For the (—CH3)-groups there is a hindring of the further chlorination at the same C-atom by an already existing chlorine atom. The reactivity ratio of the (C—H)-bonds for the different groups is determined as p̄(CH):p̄(CH2):p̄(CH3) = 3,1:1,9:1.

Eine Serie lösungschlorierter ataktischer Polypropylene mit einem Chlorgehalt zwischen 0 und 64 Masse-% wurde untersucht. Das Chlorierungsverhalten ließ sich aus dem Verlauf der Molanteile aller unchlorierten und chlorierten Gruppen in Abhängigkeit vom summarischen Chlorierungsgrad α∑ bzw. von den Gruppenchlorierungsgraden α(CH), α(CH2) und α(CH3) verfolgen. Zusätzlich wurden berechnete Konstitutionskurven, die dem Bernoulli-Modell der Substitutionsstatistik entsprechen, einbezogen. Daraus ergibt sich, daß die Chlorierung der (—CH2—)-Gruppen im wesentlichen mit der Zufallsstatistik beschreibbar ist. Bei der Chlorierung der (—CH3)-Gruppen erfolgt dagegen eine Behinderung der weiteren Chlorierung am selben C-Atom durch ein bereits vorhandenes Chloratom. Das Verhältnis der relativen Reaktivitäten der (C—H)-Bindungen in den verschiedenen Gruppen wurde zu p̄(CH):p̄(CH2):p̄(CH3) = 3,1:1,9:1 bestimmt.
