Abstract The measurement of the diffusion coefficients of anticancer drugs and compounds having a similar structure in aqueous solution at 30 °C are carried out and the effect of some groups affecting the diffusion coefficients is investigated. The measurements of viscosity are also carried out in order to obtain the viscosity coefficient. The radius of molecule from the diffusion coefficients is in agreement with the value from the viscosity measurements. Under the concentration range studied, it seem that these compounds have a same state, for example, monomer or dimer. However, from Van der Waals radius of the results obtained, these solutes are monomer state. In spite of a large size, the diffusion coefficient of Uridine-5′-monophosphoric acid indicates a high value because of the potential gradient occurs in diffusion. From the result, 5-fluoro-2′-deoxy-5′-monophosphoric acid diffuses quickly in human body in spite of the large molecular weight.
