Zusammenfassung Der Film zeigt die Anatomie des Außenbandapparates am oberen Sprunggelenk und das biomechanische Prinzip einer modifizierten Watson-Jones-Plastik durch Verwendung eines distal gestielten Sehnenspanes aus der Peronealmuskulatur. Die einzelnen Phasen der Operation werden aus der Sicht des Operateurs dargestellt, das postoperative Management teilt man mit. Der Film schließt mit der Demonstration der wesentlichen klinischen und röntgenologischen Befunde, entsprechend einer Nachuntersuchung 100 operierter Patienten der Jahre 1970–1978.

Summary The film shows the anatomy of the lateral ligaments of the ankle joint and the biomechanical principle of a modified Watson-Jones procedure using a split of the peroneus longus or brevis muscle. The several steps of the operation are shown from the viewpoint of the surgeon. The postoperative management and the results of 100 patients, treated from 1970 to 1978 are reported.
