Zusammenfassung In einer Studie an 60 Patienten mit Varicosis und damit einhergehender verminderter fibrinolytischer Aktivität der Venenwand wurde im Rahmen von Stripping Operationen der Einfluß von Benzaron auf die gewebeständigen Plasminogenaktivatoren untersucht. Hierzu wurde die Methode der Fibrinolyseautographie nach Todd verwendet. — Es konnte gezeigt werden, daß eine zweiwöchige Medikation von dreimal 200 mg Benzaron p.o. pro die den Gehalt der fibrinolytischen Aktivität der varicös veränderten Venenwände und der v. saphena magna zu erhöhen vermag. Das hiermit verbundene Risiko von thromboembolischen Komplikationen konnte somit bei diesen Patienten vermindert werden.

Summary The effect of benzarone on the fibrinolytic activity of the vessel wall was studied in 60 patients with varicosis who had undergone stripping operations. For this purpose the method of fibrinolysis autography according to Todd was used. It could be shown that the amount of tissue-bound plasminogen activators of the varicose veins and the v. saphena magna was significantly increased after treatment with 200 mg benzarone t.d.s. Thus the risk of thromboembolic complications due to reduced fibrinolytic activity of the veins could be decreased in these patients.
