Abstract With a median follow-up of 14 years, the combination of polyadenylic–polyuridylic acid plus locoregional radiotherapy (257 patients) has significantly improved disease-free survival (p = 0.03) and significantly reduced the incidence of metastases (p = 0.04) when compared to CMF alone (260 patients), in women with operable breast cancer. The trial does not, however, permit an appreciation of the respective role of radiotherapy and PolyAU in these results.
