Notes:
Data from a number of salivation studies were analyzed to see whether treatment effects are systematically related to prestimulus values; in other words, does the Law of Initial Value (LIV) hold. The diversity of techniques, methods, and subjects in the nine experiments studied, enabled a comprehensive assessment to be made. Results suggest that the Law does not consistently operate for salivation.
