    Notes: Summary Decompositions of inorganic and organic materials can be carried out within a few minutes by means of the microwave technique. For dissolving substances with volatile components in the microwave oven, low pressure containers were developed from microwave transparent materials and an excess pressure security system.     Description / Table of Contents: Zusammenfassung Die Möglichkeit der quantitativen Bestimmung von Iod als Routinemessung mittels AES-ICP wird vorgestellt. Die empfindlichsten Iodemissionslinien werden bezüglich Nachweisgrenzen, Untergrundäquivalenzwerten sowie chemischen und spektralen Interferenzen unter Standardbedingungen getestet. Geeignete Methoden zur Herstellung stabilier Eichlösungen und zur Präparation von Probenlösungen aus iodhaltigen organischen und anorganischen Substanzen werden erläutert, sowie Ergebnisse von Testanalysen mitgeteilt.
    Notes: Summary The possibility of quantitative determination of iodine as a conventional measurement by AES-ICP is introduced. The most sensitive iodine emission lines are investigated, referring to detection limit, background equivalation concentration, as well as the chemical and spectral interferences for standard conditions. Appropriate methods for the preparation of stable calibration solutions, and the preparation of sample solutions of iodic organic and inorganic samples are discussed, as well as the results of the test analyses.

    Description / Table of Contents: Mass Spectrometric Investigation of Vaporization of AlF3The vaporization of AlF3 was investigated by two different equipments for mass spectrometric analysis. The formation of the gas complex HAlF4 was detected during the vaporization process of AlF3 affected by small water content. Besides, a probable formation of other complex species has been confirmed.
    Notes: Die Verdampfung von AlF3 wurde massenspektrometrisch unter Verwendung zweier verschiedener Meßanordnungen analysiert. Es konnte auf diese Weise nachgewiesen werden, daß HF—AlF3-Gaskomplexe bei der Verdampfung auftreten. Neben dem monomeren Komplex HAlF4 ist die Bildung von weiteren Gaskomplexen wahrscheinlich.

    Description / Table of Contents: Formation and Structure of iso-Tetraphosphane P[P(SiMe3)Me]3The reaction of MeP(SiMe3)2 with PCl3 (molar ratio 3:1, -78°C, n-pentane) yields by cleaving of the P—Si bond P[P(SiMe3)Me]3 1 with Cl2P—P(SiMe3)Me and ClP[P(SiMe3)Me]2 as intermediates. The reaction rate decreases by the increase of phosphorylation. The last reaction step (formation of 1) occurs while warming up to room temperature. 1 forms colorless hexagonal crystals, melting point 65 ± 1°C.Tris(trimethylsilyl-methyl-phosphino)phosphane 1 crystallizes monoclinically in the space group Cc (No. 8) with Z = 8 formula units per unit cell. The molecules possess approximated C3 symmetry and have (RRR) and (SSS) configurations, respectively. The bond distances d̄(P—P) = 220.1 pm, d̄(P—C) = 186.5 pm, and d̄(P—Si) = 225.2 pm are normal and within the expected range of known distances. According to repulsive interactions between the non bonded electron pairs of the terminal P atoms and the protons of the methyl groups the angles at the central and terminal P atoms are enlarged to ⊀ PPP = 105.1° and ⊀ PPC = 106.9°, respectively.
    Notes: Bei der Umsetzung von MeP(SiMe3)2 mit PCl3 (Molverhältnis 3:1, -78°C, n-Pentan) entsteht unter Spaltung der P—Si-Bindung über die Zwischenstufen Cl2P—P(SiMe3)Me und ClP[P(SiMe3)Me]2 das P[P(SiMe3)Me]3 1. Mit steigendem Phosphorylierungsgrad verringert sich die Reaktionsgeschwindigkeit, so daß der letzte Reaktionsschritt (Bildung von 1) erst beim Erwärmen auf Raumtemperatur eintritt. 1 bildet farblose hexagonale Blättchen, Schmp. 65 ± 1°C.Tris(trimethylsilyl-methyl-phosphino)phosphan 1 kristallisiert monoklin in der Raumgruppe Cc (Nr. 8) mit Z = 8 Formeleinheiten. Die Moleküle haben angenäherte C3 Symmetrie und liegen als (RRR) bzw. (SSS) Konfigurationsisomere vor. Die mittleren Bindungsabstände betragen d̄(P—P) = 220,1 pm, d̄(P—C) = 186,5 pm und d̄(P—Si) = 225,2 pm. Die Bindungswinkel am zentralen P-Atom sowie an den terminalen P-Atomen sind wegen abstoßender Wechselwirkungen zwischen den nicht bindenden Elektronenpaaren und den Protonen der Methylsubstituenten auf ⊀ PPP + 105,1° bzw. ⊀ PPC = 106,9° aufgeweitet.
